Watching the windowpanes or doors for air leaks is a good means to get cheaper utility bills. Aircons are utilized a good deal by a lot of people and helping it perform better is one good way to get cheaper electricity bills.

– Blinds and Drapes –

This can be another way heat / cool air escapes during summertime or winter. It is central to be mindful of shutting screens and curtains when you leave your home. A good way to ensure that you’re practicing this is to make an effort to constantly think “Have I closed the screens?” every time you’re locking your front door for instance. After a while it should simply become second nature and you’ll mechanically remember it every time you exit the house.

– Computers and TV’s –

Switching them off when you aren’t utilising them. I know it is a pain in the neck and it is really simple to blank out… but computers, specifically performance machines use a stack of power. If you have an older computer with a CRT monitor rather than an LCD then this is twice right. Tvs as well use a modest quantity of energy and unlike a computer they do not take time to reboot so it shouldn’t be overmuch an inconvenience to shut it off anytime you’re going outside to cut the grass or do work on your automobile.

– Washing your clothes –

Utilizing a cool water wash rather than heated water is a capital way to get cheaper electricity accounts also. Your water heater will get a break and that should instantaneously save you some money. Even if you are using a gas heating system you should still save some cash by using a cool water cycle.

– Housecleaning your air conditioner –

A lot of people leave out this step, often because their air con is up high and it’s a bother to reach. Other times merely because it ne’er occured to them before. Housecleaning your air con filters is a key way to lower your power bill. Dirty filters means your unit has to work a great deal tougher to produce the same quantity of warmth / cooling that it did before.

When purchasing a foreclosure in Sarasota Florida, one thing that one might not usually consider is the utilties. We all want to live comfortably but these days, that comes at a price. It will be challenging since money is a big issue but there are ways to save money even on utilities.

When we think of utilities, we are referring to things like electricity, water, cable and the phone. Will switching or canceling be the only answer? The answer is no because you can’t switch sometimes and there are ways to lower that.

Turn off all the lights and get the kids to do the same when not in use. You might think putting the television on sleep mode is good enough but it isn’t so turn off the power switch or better yet, unplug it.

Fluorescent lights will shave dollars off your electric bill. It does not consume that much power and when you go out shopping for them, make sure that they maintain a Kelvin temperature of 2,600 to 3,000. These may be more expensive than incandescent but they will last 10 times that of a less efficient one andhaving to replace this model.

Do You Want to Make Your Horse Happy This Winter?

Monday, August 31st, 2009

Some people won’t believe me when I say this but what makes a horse happy in the winter is to be outdoors. Horses were created to have the freedom of outdoors even in the winter. Their coats will grow thicker and their bodies were made to live in colder temperatures. They are quite content with 15F temperatures.

The bonuses of winter turnout are exercise, fresh air, activity instead of boredom and as a result no winter weight gain. Your horse will be so much happier and healthier.

There is a little more work involved on your part but the results will be worth it.

If you don’t already have a shelter in your pasture it would be a good idea to construct one. A shelter is important on cold windy days. Something like a large bus shelter – a roof with 3 sides is the best because it covers every angle the wind can come in except the front.
Make sure that water is always available. When the temperatures dip down ice can form on the water troughs. If this is an ongoing problem where you live then an investment in a water heater or an automatic pasture waterer will do the trick. It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on how much they drink, since although they require water, their thirst drops off in the winter.

It’s essential to remember that horses will require more food during the winter months. This is because it requires more energy to stay warm. Increase the amount of hay. Increase it even more when the temperatures drop further. Since it takes longer to break down, hay endures longer which in turn provides more long term heat.

Supplements are also a high priority in the cold season. A very effective supplement is TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Formula. It supports the equine immune system with superior antioxidant activity as well as promotes proper feed digestion and nutrient absorption. The cold winter air tends to dry out hair and skin but the TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Formula combats this. Check your blankets and see if they will be adequate. Avoid putting on blankets at the beginning of the season so that they can produce a thicker coat. This will protect them later on when the temperatures starts to drop. Tahitian Noni International makes this product and it is called TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Essentials everywhere but in Australia

These are just a few ideas for a safe winter turnout. Your horse is worth it.
